Physical Characteristics: A form of red, reddish-brown, or orange Chalcedony, sometimes with white patterns mixed in and other inclusions. Can be found in Siberia, Brazil, Germany, and India.
Metaphysical Properties: Carnelian has a very loving energy, and can aid in cleansing negativity from other stones. It helps to awaken talents, inspiration, and intellect. It can repel apathy and neglect. It has been said to be one of the stones of the breastplate of the High Priest of the Israelites. Small tumbled stones are perfect for pocket stones or for a medicine bag, though they may get scratched if they are soft.
