Physical Characteristics: A mineral that includes calcium, silicon, boron, and oxides. Hardness of 3.5. Unfortunately Howlite accepts dye well, and because of the natural markings it is sometimes dyed and sold as turquoise. Even without the dye, it is sometimes called "White Turquoise" or "White Buffalo Turquoise". It was first found in Nova Scotia, later in California in the U.S.
Metaphysical Properties: Howlite dispels pain, rage, stress, and selfishness. It can aid in becoming more spiritual. Small tumbled stones are perfect for pocket stones or for a medicine bag, though they may get scratched if they are soft.
