Physical Characteristics: Also known as "Fool's Gold", pyrite is an iron sulfide mineral. Hardness of 6-6.5. Name is derived from Greek word for fire since striking pyrite with steel will sometimes produce sparks. Found all over the world, especially in Spain, Peru and Italy. Hematite ring not included. CAUTION: MAY CONTAIN SULFUR THAT COULD LEACH INTO WATER. Not recommended for elixirs.
