Physical Characteristics: A Manganese dioxide in the Rutile family which is an ore for Manganese. Hardness of 6 - 6.5, but only 2 in the massive form (these "Suns" would be considered a massive form). Usually formed in shallow seas or bogs, as well as in hydrothermal deposits. These Pyrite "Suns" are natural disc formations. Pyrite is also known as "Fool's Gold" because it can be mistaken for gold.
Metaphysical Properties: Pyrite can assist with energy work such as healing. It also helps to stabilize and balance emotions. Repels situations that may cause interference both physically and spiritually. It is a stone of transformation for the physical, intellectual, and emotional bodies.
