Physical Characteristics: A hydrous calcium aluminum silicate. Hardness 5 to 5.5. It can be found in Iceland, Scotland, India, Brazil, Australia, California in the U.S., and many other locations. This piece has been polished and shaped into an egg, perfect for holding in the hand or for body layouts. It is sometimes spelled scolacite.
