Physical Characteristics: Pendant made from a Turquoise cabachon surrounded by detailed 925 (Sterling) Silver. All handmade. Height measurement includes the bale. The price tag can be seen in some of the photos. Turquoise has a hardness of 5-6, and is a copper aluminum phosphate mineral. The blue color is derived from the copper while the greenish color comes from iron. The name Turquoise comes from the French name for Turkish stone, since much of the ancient Turquoise came through the Turkish trade routes. Turqoise has been popular since ancient times, (as early as 5000 B.C.) and has been used in jewelry and as decoration on items for thousands of years. This pendant is reminiscent of Native American jewelry. CHAIN IS NOT INCLUDED.
