Physical Characteristics: This rhombohedral calcite glows in all 3 categories of UV light! Under Long wave light (UVA, 315 - 400 nm) it glows pink. Under Medium wave light (UVB, 280 - 315 nm) it glows whitish-blue. Under Short wave light (AVC, 200 - 280 nm) it glows whitish-blue, but then continues to fluoresce (in other words, it is phosphorescent). From Durango, Mexico. Caution should be taken to not shine UV lights of any wavelengths directly into the eye, or even allow reflections to strike the eyes. In addition, direct skin exposure should be avoided with medium and short wave UV light.
