Physical Characteristics: Chemical composition is CaMg(Si2O6), hardness of 5.5 - 6.5. Found in Canada, Russia, Brazil, South Africa, and in the U.S. in Northern California, along the Colorado-Wyoming border, and elsewhere in Wyoming. CAUTION: Contains magnesium that may leach out. Not recommended for elixirs.
