Physical Characteristics: This extra large Garnet is a reddish brown heavy crystal. It isn't gemstone quality (no clarity), and probably contains quite a bit of iron giving it the color and weight. Garnet is a Neosilicate with a hardness of 6.5 - 7.5. CAUTION: MAY CONTAIN ALUMINUM THAT COULD LEACH INTO WATER. Not recommended for elixirs.
Metaphysical Properties: Garnet may have been one of the stones used in the Breastplate of the high priest. Native Americans and other cultures also use garnet as a sacred stone. It is said to aid with manifestation, devotion, commitment, balancing chakra energies, and/or the movement of Kundalini. It can also extract negative energy and has been called a "stone of health".
