Physical Characteristics: Kyanite is an aluminum silicate mineral. The hardness depends on which crystal axis is being measured. It can be found in Switzerland, Mexico, South Africa, Brazil, Kenya, Burma, and the U.S.
Metaphysical Properties: Kyanite can align and balance the chakras automatically and immediately, and is one of the few stones that never need cleansing. The alignment and balancing of the chakras can happen spontaneously when blue Kyanite is used with black Kyanite. It can help with anxiety, bringing tranquility and calmness. It is a great meditation stone as well. Blue Kyanite seems to pair well with orange kyanite.
