Physical Characteristics: These pieces have been shaped into a flattened "drop" with a hole drilled through the top to accommodate a small chain or leather strip so that it can be worn as a necklace. Lepidolite is a potassium lithium aluminum silicate. Hardness of 2.5-3. Monoclinic crystals, these pieces are purplish in color. Found in Brazil, Africa, Greenland, and the U.S. CAUTION: MAY CONTAIN ALUMINUM THAT COULD LEACH INTO WATER. Not recommended for elixirs or as a necklace for small children that may suck on the bead.
