Physical Characteristics: Marcasite is an iron sulfide mineral, chemically identical to pyrite, but with a different crystal structure. It has a hardness of 6 to 6.5, but crumbles much easier than pyrite.
Metaphysical Properties: Marcasite is very helpful with spiritual growth, especially in providing incentive to overcome obstacles, stagnation, or blockages. It can give one an awareness of attachments (or energetic "strings") that are inappropriate and not in one's best interest, and assists in breaking those attachments. It can help bring prosperity by overcoming spiritual starvation, aiding with overcoming negative traits and allowing one to shine.
