Physical Characteristics:  An aluminum borosilicate.  Hardness of 7 to 7.5. Assorted sizes. Tourmaline can be found in Brazil, Pakistan, Africa, and Maine in the U.S. CAUTION: MAY CONTAIN ALUMINUM THAT COULD LEACH INTO WATER. Not recommended for elixirs.

Metaphysical Properties: Black Tourmaline is a wonderful grounding stone. It can also be used to dispel and/or protect against negative energy. Some people place it on or near their computer monitors to protect them from possible electromagnetic radiation.  Native Americans use black tourmaline in Quartz to protect themselves from negative spells. It can be helpful in increasing vitality, creativity, and feelings of well-being.
